Building Australian Skills via University Research Cooperation
CO2 Smart works to enable Universities and research agencies take key roles in all our electric vehicle implementation projects, in order to build hands-on technical and research experience. This helps build Australian skills and capabilities in electric vehicles and related technologies. If we move now we have a chance to create new companies, new Australian success stories that can lead to jobs and export earnings longer term.
In Australia’s First Electric Vehicle Trial, it was a clear objective to enable Western Australian Universities to take key roles in the project, in order to build hands-on technical and research experience. To achieve this goal the vehicle conversion prototype is being completed by the WA Renewable Energy Vehicle Team at University of Western Australia (REV), after which a promising local electric vehicle firm will complete the remaining nine vehicles to the agreed blueprint.
